Avon smug, superior and patronising? Surely not!

But (heheh) here's my 10 favourite Avon put-downs:

Blake: Handgun?
Avon: It's a bit elaborate for a toothpick.
		("Cygnus Alpha")

Cally: My people have a saying -
He who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.
Avon: Life expectancy must be fairly short among your people.
		("Mission To Destiny")

Vila: I've got this shocking pain right behind the eyes.
Avon: Have you considered amputation?
		("Redemption")

Gan: Can't find Orac. Even tried calling his name.
Avon: Oh, I'm sorry I missed that. It's the kind of natural stupidity
that no amount of training could ever hope to match.
		("Shadow")

Vila: Yes, I always knew you had a friend. I used to say to people
"I bet Avon's got a friend, somewhere in the galaxy".
Avon: And you were right. That must be a novel experience for you.
		("Killer")

Servalan: I'm going to be honest with you.
Avon: That should be mildly disconcerting.
		("Aftermath")

Tarrant: Be thankful I'm restricting myself to talk.
Avon: Well, now, that's fascinating - you mean you can do something else?
	  	("Sarcophagus")

Dayna: Oh, I trust you, Avon.
 Avon: I must be slipping.
	  	("Sand")

Avon: Do you believe anything of what you've just said?
Soolin: Not one word.
       		("Sand")

Avon: The fire was stupid. Putting Vila on guard was suicidal.
What's the matter, is staying alive too complicated for you?
Soolin: It's beginning to look that way.
		("Blake")

This started off list earlier but might spark something here. With
recent events cars have been in my mind, I wondered what cars the B7
crew would drive.

I pondered about Gan having an old farmers style Land Rover, but decided
that he would in reality have an BL Austin Allegro.

Cally 2CV ? Or a Mini with a souped up engine.

Villa Ford Capri. (not sure about the dice)

Jenna VW Golf. Tuned, chipped and ported extremely quick.

Blake Ford Galaxy, to carry his followers.

Avon Something sleek in black, probably matt finish not polished. With
Orac in the boot.

Solin would obtain Sean Connery's 007 Aston Martin DB7 complete with
guns, oil and rotating blades in the wheels.

Servalan maybe The Dukes of Hazard's Boss Hogg's Limo

To save Jenni reposting I've cut'n'pasted below her earlier mail.

Avon: The latest and most complex concept car. It wouldn't matter what it
was as long as it did what it was told and did the work for him.
Dayna: Probably a Fireblade, or other motorbike, in preference to a car. If
it has to be a car, an E-Type Jaguar or Austin Healy roadster, souped for
rallying
Blake: A Volkswagen camper-van
Cally: Herbie probably - it's got a mind of its own!
Gan: a big Jeep
Jenna: Alfa-Romeo Spyder
Servalan: The latest fashion in big, comfy and chauffer-driven (e.g. Merc S
/ Bentley Intercontinental/Jaguar Limo)
Soolin: There's the obvious - Volkswagen Scorpio, otherwise probably a
Volkswagen Golf GTI Cabriolet.
Tarrant: I'd go for McLaren F1 over XJ220 - completely different design
approaches.
Travis: Again, a motorbiker (all that leather!), but for cars, probably a
Porsche - fast and utilitarian.
Vila: Anything he could steal ;)

If the crew had access to the music of our time, what would they listen to?

Also, does anyone know of a serious article on Blake's 7, concerning its
philosophy, or why it appeals to so many of us?

TIA,

How do you think he'd get on with Kitt from Knight Rider?
(Having recently read a piece of fanfic along those lines.)

Pretty good, after he ripped out the voice control and personality module
and replaced it with something less annoying (I actually think he would have
replaced Slave's personality module if he'd had the time).

After seeing Sheelagh Wells photos at Deliverance I know PD
drives a Ka.
I wouldn't have thought anyone over 5' 4" could get in to one!

Rather brings to mind the last scene in Boogie Nights. "I am a star."

I can say no more on this most genteel and delicate of lists.
