The only person that I know of who had bad relations with one of the directors
was Brian Croucher (Travis 2). As Travis is the only charatcter I recall with a
large stone on his ring, the anecdote holds water at least that far, though I
must admit that I'm dubious overall.

Profic is not normally accepted as canon. It's just fanfic that somebody
managed to get licensed and paid for. "Afterlife" is no more canonical than
all the oodles of Trek profic novels. Which is just as well, considering
the book.

This is pretty credible, since only Travis wore a ring on the show that could
be described as looking like rock candy, and because Croucher can be such a
total nutball (anyone who's seen him at some of the conventions will agree).

Vila's the only survivor as far as I'm concerned - he definitely takes a

Because it's amazingly badly-written crap that is a travesty of the series'
ethos?

Wasn't it a good programme? I was very impressed. I've found that when I
watch myself back on TV it's like watching someone *completely* different
(like hearing your voice on tape, only a thousand-fold). It was
interesting to have that level of objectivity put over it - like hearing
about fandom for the first time. Andrew Abbott did a great job.

I think he did a particularly excellent job with the choice of clips. One
thing I remember him saying was that he really had to limit the number of
episodes which he could take clips from on the grounds of expense. I
certainly wasn't expecting him to use as many as four! (Think I counted
that correctly - any takers?)

Yeah, we talked a fair bit about slash! What a fantastic edit that was!
Just enough for those in the know about slash to have a good snicker! ;)

Judith: you did really well; you didn't seem nervous at all. As Pita said,
you really communicated your enthusiasm.

Phone message from my brother over the weekend: 'You're *dead*! USED to
idolize me?!? You still should!' Some people are never happy... ;)

Yes I've since heard more and it was Brian, who used to drink in the same
pub as someone on the IMB list. Another tasty snippet is that in the pub
(The Chandos in Forest Hill apparently) he was known by the regulars as
'the scourge of the universe' I don't know if this is with reference to his
role or his personality.

Hi all,

This is just a general call to ask if people would be willing to lend
their zines to the zine library at Redemption, which I have agreed to help
organize. Here are some general rules we have about the library which will
hopefully set your mind at rest in terms of protecting zines from loss,
damage, theft, etc.

- The zine library will only be open when a steward is available.

- Readers will be asked to leave any bags with the steward at the door.

- No zines may be taken out of the library.

- No food and drink in the library.

- I shall be lending my own collection of very rare 1980s zines so I have
a vested interest in making sure every zine in the library is
*extremely* well-cared for!!

If you would like to loan any zines to the library, send me an e-mail
(address above) and I'll give you the finer detail of how we're going
about it.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Una McCormack

Why on earth *should* we consider it to be part of canon, any more than
any other piece of fanfic is? I can't say 'badly written fanfic', since
I haven't read it myself.

                   Hello to all.
I have been quite busy this week, with a new job and all, so I did
not get to put in my two cents worth. But I have read all of your
responses; all of you are quite thoughtful and thorough in your posts.
It is such a pleasure to read them.
However, in going through the mail, imagine my suprise at the
advertisements that were included. Since I use Hotmail (to avoid being
stalked) i am used to the little advertisements that flag on- it is
usually stuff I would buy. But weird moneymaking schemes(!)What next?
Pictures of girls who are "Barely Legal"? Alien phone numbers?
Ok, it was a bit off topic, so here is an ob7 reference question: What
would Avon do to spammers? Would Viula participate in sending Spam?
Would blake send his message through spamming?

                                    Edith :)

I was just catching up on my B5 watching, and noticed something rather
interesting in the episode Phoenix Rising.

Watch the scene with the flashback to <spoiler>'s StarFuries blasting a
transport - the transport is a different mix of colours, but clearly the
Liberator's main hull. The green ball is missing, but the pylons for the
neutron blasters are still there (but in this case serving purely as wings-
there are no weapon pods)

I guess that may answer a question that I was wondering about. I wondered if
the cast would get any payments from the clips - presumably they do.

Maybe it takes me to recognise my own signs of nerves. I can hear it in my
voice. But then my voice got a lot lower due to all the problems I had with it.
I guess nerves just raise it to a pitch that sounds normal to the rest of the
world <grin>.

PS. I got recognised by the postman this morning. Disconcerting.
