Found this while looking for something else on my desk
at work. No Muse this time. Sorry <smile>
Instead, imagine a spotlight over a Zerok copier, and
a silver security-overall clad figure leaning against
it, singing plaintively (to another tune from Oliver!)
this sensitive little ditty entitled:

Where's the Gold?

Where's the gold?
Is it really in the hold?
Keiller assures me it's so easy
But he was ne'er that bold.

Where is she
Who has set a trap for me?
This ship is the bait for tempting fate;
Do I have time to flee?

Who can say all will be fine,
Even now we've left the mine?
All around the sign of something wrong,
And she'll be here before too long.
Where, where's the gold?

Every little plan I make
On my guard against mistake
She gives me no break, again I see
She got here before me
Where's, where's the gold?

Regards
Joanne
(wondering what else is to be found if she actually
has time to rearrange things...)

A few belated suggestions...

Blake - reading...I see him as a voracious reader, with a special interest
in history, in particular political and military, but reaching into just
about anything to do with *people*. If he collected anything, I'd vote for
old rare - and probably proscribed - books. Metalwork. Orienteering.

Jenna - tough, as we don't get much insight into her mind. But perhaps
buying something rare and valuable e.g. antique jewellry (which would
satisfy her taste in self-display *and* her smuggler's avaricious
streak...).

Avon - 'private research' - I would imagine finding out everything humanly
possible about the Liberator would have kept him happily occupied for
months...beating Vila at games. As avid a reader as Blake, but about science
and technology.

Cally - Drawing. Calisthenics or yoga or whatever...ceramics. I could see
her interested in something like lace-making - intricate and beautiful - but
then we never see her wearing any.

Gan - woodwork, beer-making (and I'm sure Vila would be glad to help).
Reading the futuristic version of Westerns.

Tarrant - those calculatedly high-risk sports like bunji-jumping and
sky-diving (Dayna would go for these too), adventure novels (and maybe Gan's
old collection of Space westerns). War games.

Dayna - see Tarrant, plus archery, collecting antique weapons (I have this
mental picture of her with some of those massive and fearsome medieval
weapons - and Servalan in her mind's eye). Music (not very good music, but
still...) Athletics.

Vila - card games, board games (despite the fact that he never seems to win,
and when he 'advises' Dayna, *she* loses as well, so he isn't very good at
them) games of any sort that didn't involve
too much in the way of exercise. Helping Gan with the beer-making.

Soolin - Solitaire, and for some reason, metal embroidery (especially gold).

Intelligent I agree with profusely, no list describing Avon could ever be
complete without it. I also like the inclusion of 'Deep'. Doesn't the saying
'Still waters run deep' suit his so well? Way-cool? No. There's a lot about
Avon that is masked by his cool front, but like passionate, he tends to
swing between the two extremes. It's this that defines your second point,
dangerous. It's his intense passions and cool front which make him appear as
an 'unknown quantity'. People like Avon are often misinterpreted, making
them appear to be loose cannons, when in actual fact they stick to their own
rules regarding morality. Sure, it looks bad for them, but there is a
certain degree of self preservation is maintaining a front of 'mad, bad and
dangerous to know.'
Idealistic, well yes - to a point. Inside every cynic there's a repressed
idealist, because however much the cynic may want the ideals to work, the
real world comes between them and their implementation. Blake's passions
blinded him to uncertainty of life. Avon remained brutally practical.

Tor.

I've already tried to convince Steve Cole to do a series of B7 novels. I
even offered him one and he wasn't interested. Then I saw him at 35 up and
he still wan't interested. So much for that idea.

Hi, I cruised your site and enjoyed the trip.
re: wallpaper:
The soft grainy texture effect is lovely.
The wallpaper gallery had me hearing Vila saying:
"I'm in hell and it's full of Avons!"

The flight trip from the bridge, etc. was very nicely done and
creatively crafted. fun.
Plus beautiful background patterns.
And a nifty teleport sparkle effect.
But the very best was that "Zen on Soma" effect. Wowser!

You should put this on the B7 web ring.

This might not be a hobby, but I think Jenna could drink most people under
the table. Except Vila. Nothing onscreen to prove Jenna could do that, but it
wouldn't surprise me.

Dayna: With all the one-shouldered outfits she wore in Aftermath, she may
have custom-made her own clothing. Her life on the home planet was isolated
and designing her own clothes would certainly fill up lots of free time.

Cally: Crosswords, logic problems, brain teasers, something that requires a
lot of thinking.
