I checked with Andrew Sewell. I didn't have the name of the scriptwriter quite
correct.

"The correct spelling for the writer is Bev Doyle who counts among his numerous
credits 'EastEnders' and over the next couple of years will be making quite a
name for himself in Hollywood."

Are Blake's 7 tapes available in U.S. format? My tapes are finally dying
after many years and I would dearly love to replace them. If I had cable I
would be try and tape the series as it aired on the PBS station in Indiana,
but I don't have access. I really picked the wrong time to move from
Indiana!

Borders Books and Music carries the tapes, as does Suncoast. You can also
get them from Amazon.com. They usually run about $19.99 per two-episode tape.

Bigstar.com often has them for $16.00 -- I've been getting some from there.

Hi all!

I have a problem now. I'd started to search the video-stores for complete
set of the B7-episodes. But, in every store, i've visited till now, there
are usually not more than 2 to 4 different tapes, usually from series III
and IV. Most of the episodes from the first two series are missing.
Moreover, even if I begin to bye tapes one by one, they still would be a bit
more expensive, than I would cope with.
Therefore, could someone help me - to find a complete set of episodes and,
if possible, to find them cheaper. From second-hand, for example.

Thank you!

Hellen
P.S. I moved to Manchester, UK, if I missed to mention yet. Tomorrow I gonna
ask about Stephen Greif.

In addition to =A New York State of Crime=, with the new Curt Holland story,
fans of both Barbara Paul and B7 will want to acquire the September/October
issue of =Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine=, which has a long (40 pp.) story
with a couple of fannish in-jokes. No actual B7 avatars, but the eponymous
heroine of "The Reluctant Op" is named Callie Darrow. Despite her name, the
B7 character she most resembles is Vila, since she's a professional thief
who is now working as a detective only because she has been blackmailed into
it. However, she's a very tough cookie, not much like our favorite coward
in that respect.

There's also a general fannish reference, applicable to B7 and other
fandoms, in the name of a tugboat that figures in the story. I cracked up
laughing when I got to that part.

I recommend the story in general, even aside from its fannish interest.
It could easily be the first of a series, and I'd like to see more of this
interesting protagonist.
