Dear Rob,

IMHO, the Mythic Tarot is one of the nicest decks around. I would
strongly recommend reading the book that comes with it, unlike many
such books, which only act as a way to increase the price of the tarot
set, this one is really good. Because the deck is based on Greek/Roman
myths, and the writers take the time to "set the stage" for each scene
in each card, one can come to a better, clearer, and easier
understanding of each card. Because these myths are pretty universal,
no particular esoteric axe is ground. Also, the artwork is beautiful,
and each card, including the minors is completely and beautifully
illustrated. Truly one of the pretties decks around!

There is also a "Mythic Tarot Workbook", which I would recommend. It
includes further information, questions for reflection, meditation
exercises, and several additional spreads. Both books include sample
readings, to give you an idea as to how the cards might be worked
with.

The drawbacks are few: No reversed meanings are given, so if you use
reversed meanings, you will have to gather those from the text. The
little cloth that comes with it is kinda pesky, and uses a layout for
the Celtic Cross that may not agree with yours. The stock is thin, so
you will want to be careful in how you handle the cards, if you use
them on a regular basis.
