PROJECT RUNEBERG publishes electronic texts in Scandinavian languages.

Find our Gopher menus at gopher.lysator.liu.se port 70.
Anonymous FTP archive at ftp.lysator.liu.se /pub/runeberg.
  Subscription requests to <runeberg-list-request@lysator.liu.se>.

The files in this directory contain GNU zip compressed, ISO 8859-1
encoded, medieval Swedish texts. The Dept of Computational
Linguistics (Sprakdata) at Gothenburg University has made electronic
editions of these old scripts, and kindly allowed Project Runeberg to
publish them.

Sprakdata's files are encoded in a character set called IBM PC or
MS-DOS code page 850, and new lines are CR+LF. These files are
available by anonymous FTP at logos.svenska.gu.se in directory
/pub/ktext, and also by Gopher. I have used the small UNIX shell
script 850-819.sh to convert them to a more UNIX-like format.

			     Future work

I do not yet know more about the texts than their file names. The
texts are not yet available through Project Runeberg's Gopher.
